PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Get your Santa beards ready! The 7th annual Beat Santa 5K road race (or walk) will be held Saturday, Dec. 17.

Sunset start, finish in the dark!
The race will start at 4 p.m. from the Seaconnet Sportsmans Club, 145 Sakonnet Drive, in Common Fence Point. This is a new location from previous years.
The course is a very flat 5K that begins and ends at the Sportsmans Club. “Wheel measured by Rudolph,” according to organizers. There will be a clock, but no timing or recorded times.
Online registration IS OPEN. The field size is limited to 100 runners.
Registration fees until Nov. 30 will be $15. On Nov. 30, prices will increase to $25 for all adults. Online registration will close on Dec. 2. Race day registration will be $25 for all adult entries, if space permits. Children, age 10 and under, are free with a paid parent or guardian.
Proceeds will benefit the Rhode Island Road Runners.
Luminescence items and goodies will be given to all pre-registered runners, as well as refreshments and a little Christmas cheer.
All runners that beat Santa Claus will receive a present. Other prizes may also be awarded. If Santa is unable to finish the race due to any reason, prizes will be awarded in a raffle.
This is a night race. Please bring reflective gear and headlamps or flashlights. Be Seen!
