PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect Saturday from 4 a.m. to noon ahead of accumulating snow expected to fall on Portsmouth early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for northern Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Portsmouth is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of snow fall early Saturday, according to the NWS.
The snow should begin around 2 a.m. with heavier snow falling around 4, according to The Weather Channel. Snow will accumulate on roads and walkways, leading to slippery travel.
A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when snow is expected to cause travel difficulties. Expect snow-covered roads and limited visibilities if required to travel. Drivers should use caution on roadways.
