Transfer Station Sees Long Backup During Storm
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Snow is falling heavily in Portsmouth, but that’s not reducing long lines at the Portsmouth Transfer Station.
According to state Rep. Dennis M. Canario, a long line of vehicles waited at the Portsmouth Transfer Station Saturday morning at the start of the storm.
“There were a lot of people turning around and leaving as well. Not a good situation,” he wrote. “My suggestion is not to go today. The line is still backed up and the roads are very slippery.”
Rep. Canario took the following photo around 10:40 a.m. Saturday.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday. A parking ban is also in effect in Portsmouth until noon Sunday. Stay safe, Portsmouth!
