PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — It’s a busy week in Portsmouth. Here’s what you need to know this week, Aug. 28-Sept. 3, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
The Portsmouth Town Council meets and takes up the issue of banning plastic bags in Portsmouth, among other issues. If Portsmouth bans single use plastic bags, it would make Aquidneck Island completely free of plastic bags. Middletown and Newport previously approved the ban, which will start in November.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.
Featured here is the entire meeting agenda.
