Police arrest Uber driver called by student

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Portsmouth police arrested an Uber driver from Providence after he allegedly tried to sign out a student from Portsmouth High School. 

Portsmouth police issued the following press release Saturday about the arrest. 

According to police, the Uber driver was “providing transportation for cash and was contacted by the student for a ride.”
