PHS to hold homecoming parade Saturday

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Portsmouth High School will hold its homecoming parade and football game on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Students and band members participating in the parade should line up at noon Saturday. The parade will step off at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Traffic delays may occur in the vicinity of Portsmouth High School due to the parade.

Each class will be responsible for gathering classmates to walk in the parade. Each class is also responsible for a “float” comprised of a pickup truck and/or trailer according to their theme.

Judging will be based on quality and creativity, and the number of participants. Any other clubs or teams that would like to march are welcome.

The parade will be followed by the homecoming football game at 1:30 p.m. with Portsmouth facing off against East Providence High School. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.

The homecoming dance will be held Saturday night starting at 7 p.m.
