PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The fence is now up at the Common Fence Point Community Hall! The Common Fence Point Improvement Association (CFPIA) provided the following update on this major project.
View the CFPIA update below.
The fence is up – but don’t let it keep you away! Classes are still on and the Hall is as full of life as ever. We’re just gearing up for the excavation on the south side as well as the demolition of the front walk way.Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to help us clean out our basement in what we called the “basement free for all”. I want to say a huge thank you to Diane Barrette and Karen Sparks for organizing the event. We have things in that basement dating back to the 1960s – it is truly cool and remarkable. If anyone is interested in pool tables (admittedly beat up) or the vintage booths, please let us know asap. They are free for the taking. I will personally come and open the door for you and play motivational music while you remove these treasures and take them to a happy home. The new septic system is in! Thank you Joel Camara. We are now pooping in a whole new tank. This might be the most unsexy thing I have ever been excited about. As this was the “closest crocodile to our canoe” I am pleased to put this behind us and we have no fear of the DEM coming in and shutting our doors. Go team!Everyone have a great week and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions: Questions?Conley Zani
