Newport Beach Club developer charged after allegedly slapping employee’s butt
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Portsmouth police have charged the developer for Velocity NBC, LLC, Newport Beach Club’s new owner, with assault after he allegedly slapped a female Newport Beach Club employee’s butt and attempted to coerce other female employees to consume alcohol.
On Sept. 3, at approximately 4:26 p.m., a 21-year-old female stated that she was assaulted while working at the Newport Beach Club.
According to the victim, she was working at the Newport Beach Club in Portsmouth on Saturday, Sept. 1, when the suspect, Patrick Alan Tinsman, 47, of 91 Old Ocean Road, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, slapped her on the buttocks and ran off.
After an investigation, it was determined that during the night, Tinsman allegedly attempted to coerce female employees to consume alcohol during their shift and was observed to be highly intoxicated.
On Oct. 3, a warrant was issued. Tinsman turned himself into Second District Court in Newport on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Tinsman was later processed at the Portsmouth police headquarters on the assault charge and released.
Tinsman manages the limited-liability company, Velocity NBC LLC, which purchased the Newport Beach Club from Northern Waterfront Associates Limited Partnership in August. The Newport Beach Club is a waterfront condo gated community in Portsmouth with boating, tennis, and equestrian facilities.
