Portsmouth to honor veterans with ceremonies

Veterans Day Ceremony

On Sunday, Nov. 11, military members past and present will be honored at a Veterans Day ceremony at 9 a.m. in the Town Council chambers at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road. View the event program here:

Bells of Peace

Also on Sunday, at 11 a.m., Thrive Coffee Shop, in Island Park will hold a bell ringing ceremony called “Bells of Peace” that will take place countrywide. Participants should be in place at 10:45 a.m. The bell ringing will start at 11.

Kristen, owner of Thrive, will also host a buffet, which will be free for veterans. There will also be entertainment.

Certificate Ceremony

A certificate ceremony for Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom will be also be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
