PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The first accumulating snow of the season is expected to start Thursday evening in Portsmouth. You won’t need to break out the shovels just yet. Find out how much snow will fall and when here.
According to the National Weather Service, Portsmouth will see less than half an inch of snow. The snow should start after 5 p.m. From the NWS:
ThursdayA chance of snow and sleet after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 37. North wind 6 to 8 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.
Thursday NightSnow and sleet before 8pm, then rain and sleet between 8pm and 1am, then rain after 1am. Low around 35. East wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
