Police seek ID of porch pirate caught on video

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Portsmouth police are seeking information about the identity of a white female, a “porch pirate,” caught on video allegedly stealing Christmas gifts.

On Dec. 26 at 2 p.m., a resident of Candy Court, Portsmouth, reported a larceny to Portsmouth police.

The resident stated that she was looking at her security camera footage and a white female, wearing a white or similar light-colored jacket, can be seen walking onto her property. The female can be seen taking a package containing toys, that was left on the resident’s porch by the post office.

The toys were supposed to be Christmas gifts. The theft occurred at 2 p.m. on Dec. 23.
