The Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The following Winter Weather Advisory was posted on the NWS website:
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 7 PM EST
* WHAT…Wet Snow. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches
expected. Highest amounts expected across southeast
Massachusetts north of the Cape Cod Canal…where isolated power
outages are possible. Some mixing with sleet and rain is
possible near the south coast and especially the Cape and
* WHERE…Portions of eastern and southeastern Massachusetts
including the city of Boston.
* WHEN…From 1 AM to 7 PM EST Saturday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions, reduced
visibility especially Saturday morning. Heaviest snow occurs
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
