Portsmouth to hold Comprehensive Plan Public Workshop

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The town of Portsmouth will hold a Comprehensive Plan Public Workshop. Find out more information here.

From Town Councilor Linda Ujifusa:

Please come learn about and comment on the draft Portsmouth Comprehensive Plan this Wednesday, April 3, 7-9:30 p.m., Portsmouth Middle School, 125 Jepson Lane.
What is the Comp Plan? To quote our current one:

“The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a guide for development over the next 20 years. It is primarily a policy document to be used in the planning and decision-making process by local officials. It contains recommendations for new regulations, items for further study,
and an implementation schedule.”

If you cannot attend the workshop, you can view the proposed “final draft” plan at:
And people can submit comments and questions by email to: or by phone to: Gary Crosby, Town Planner: 401-643-0332.
There is time to comment after Apr. 3 because the plan still needs to be approved by the Planning Board, Town Council and the State of Rhode Island.
