PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — A traffic stop Thursday morning resulted in police finding 25 grams of heroin in a car. The driver, a Portsmouth woman, was arrested.
On Thursday, April 11, at 10:41 a.m., Ashley Pierce was observed traveling in a vehicle on Route 24 North near Cedar Island.
Pierce, 24, of 14 Third St., Portsmouth, was stopped due to an active bench warrant for her arrest.
During the stop and arrest, police found approximately 25 grams of heroin, Suboxone, package materials, a scale, and brass knuckles in the vehicle.
Along with the bench warrant, she was charged with one count of drug possession with intent to deliver, Schedule I and II; possession of a Schedule I, II, III, IV, and V drug; and possession of a weapon other than firearm, prohibited.
Pierce was held on the charges and will be arraigned Friday morning in Second District Court.
