What's in your attic? If you had a family member at Anne Hutchinson school from 1940-1944 you might have a photo that would help us to honor Edna Griffin who was principal at that time. Edna was a product of Portsmouth schools and graduated from Pembroke. She taught at Vaucluse, Anthony School and then became principal of Hutchinson. She may have been the first black principal in Rhode Island. We would love to get annual school reports that might have mentioned her – the School Department no longer keeps those archives.
