Portsmouth seeks gate attendant on Prudence Island
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The town of Portsmouth is currently seeking applications for a part-time gate attendant at the Prudence Island Transfer Station.
Applicants must be 21 years of age and posses a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license, and pass a background check.
Applications will be accepted until the position has been filled.
Gate Attendants are responsible for monitoring access to the transfer station during normal hours of operation and ensuring that all vehicles have a valid sticker or pass.
Attendants must also monitor the content of refuse being brought into the station. Attendants must keep a daily log and distribute transfer station rules information and recycling brochures to residents, if requested. Attendants will work under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Public Works.
Applicants must have the physical ability to walk around the Transfer Station to inspect vehicle stickers, trash and recycling.
