The design of the shade of this Russian Library Lamp (circa 1910) — one of 19 lamps in the "Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light" exhibition at Rosecliff https://www.newportmansions.org/…/tiffany-glass-painting-wi… — calls to mind the pointed arches and roundels of medieval stained glass windows. Splashes of blue, green, amber, yellow and mauve swirl together to create abstract, painterly effects suggestive of individual stained-glass windows.
This exhibition, which also features five windows and more than 100 pieces of opalescent flat glass and glass “jewels” that illustrate the rich expanse of color and light available to the artists at the Tiffany Studios, is organized by The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass.
