PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — SIREN Women’s Cooperative will host an event entitled “Strong Women: Stories of Women of Color.”
Strong Women and their stories will unfold as a panel presentation and discussion on the lived experiences, strengths, and resilience of women of color in our community. The event is hosted by Xoli Burrell.
Some questions guiding our panelists may be:
*What do you want people to know about your personal / professional story being a woman of color?
*Have there been imbalances in opportunities or support in personal / professional domains for you – why or why not?
*How do the intersections between being a woman and a woman of color provide unique challenges and opportunities?
*What are the superpowers of women of color… what are the things that have made you savvy, resilient, and the successful person that you are?
This special event takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 121 Linden Lane. Tickets are $10 for non-members and free for SIREN members.
