Terri-Denise Cortvriend will host her 32nd "Talks with Terri" this Wednesday, Sept. 16, starting at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom.\n\nThe topic of discussion will be on local pedestrian and bike safety as it relates to the proposed Portsmouth Green and Complete Street Ordinance.\n\nSpecial quests include Daniela Abbott, Portsmouth Town Councilor, and CJ Opperthauser of Grow Smart.\n\nThis event is free and open to the public. Questions may also be submitted in advance during registration.\n\nCortvriend, who has served as District 72\u2019s RI State House Representative and as a member of the House Small Business Committee for the past two years, is running for re-election.\n\nShe is a long-term Rhode Islander, the mother of Savanna Cortvriend, and a graduate of Portsmouth public schools. The founder and CEO of Ocean Link, Inc. (a marine trade business in Melville), Cortvriend has been a small business owner and employer for over 30 years.\n\nShe also served for 10 years on the Portsmouth School Committee, including four years as chairperson. Terri has also served as a board member of the Newport Chamber of Commerce, and as both chair and vice-chair of the Portsmouth Tank Farm Redevelopment Advisory Committee.\n\nShe serves on the Restoration Advisory Board for Naval Station Newport, and on the IYRS Marine System Program Advisory Committee. She was elected and served two terms on the Portsmouth Water and Fire District Advisory Board. Cortvriend served on the Portsmouth Economic Development Committee, and on the Portsmouth Charter Review Committee.\n\nCortvriend is a long-standing member of the Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee.
